Edsel Avelino, also known as DJ Red, was born in Manila but currently lives in New York.
Edsel began singing and playing guitars in 2nd year high school, when his younger brother, Chris, let him borrow his SG Gibson guitar. While at De La Salle University, he became a member of the famous “Kundirana”. After college, as one of the supporting member of the popular Orient Pearl band, he traveled extensively throughout the archipelago.
A professional Physical Therapist, he works for the Department of Education as a Senior Therapist, whose mission is to enable young adults with developmental disabilities to realize their talents, strengths and capabilities in order to live and work in the community as independent individual. Edsel is also a successful businessman. He owns a rehabilitation corporation (White Diamond Rehabilitation) in Staten Island that caters services to various facilities in New York and New Jersey.
Despite his busy schedule, his passion and love for music remain unyielding. These days, he collaborates his musical work with independent artists Dexter Panlilio, Eric Celerio, and Karl Cochran who are accomplished and well-respected in the music industry.
