PACQUIAO DOMINATES ALGIERI WITH 6 KNOCKDOWNS

pac vs algieri

Manny Pacquiao dominated Chris Algieri in a lopsided affair to retain his World Boxing Organization (WBO) welterweight title Sunday at the Cotai Arena inside The Venetian here.
And the numbers show just how dominant the Filipino slugger was.

Pacquiao won the fight by a lopsided margin, with a score of 120-102 from judge Michael Pernick and 119-103 from judges Patrick Morely and Levi Martinez.

According to Compubox statistics, Pacquiao 229 out of the 669 shots thrown for an impressive 34 percent accuracy. On the other hand, Algieri landed only 108 punches out of the 469 punches he threw for only 29 present.

Pacquiao was also impressive in landing power shots.

The eight-division world champion connected 187 out of 410 power shots for a 46 percent connection ratio while Algieri landed only 80 of the 212 power punches for a rate of 38 percent.

Even after he got rich in boxing, Manny said the riches and fame never got to his head. Many say he has remained humble, and is now even more humble when he professed to have accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior.

To his detractors and those who either criticize him or does not believe him because of his faith, he has this message, “We are Filipinos. Magkaisa tayong lahat, when somebody committed a sin against you, let’s forgive them, as the Lord forgives us in our sins.”

Speculations are, Pacquiao’s next fight may be against Ruslan Provodnikov or Juan Manuel Marquez who he will face for the fifth time, or finally, Floyd Mayweather Jr.
